Dotcade Privacy Policy
Dotcade is a retro arcade game made by Tristan David, an independent developer in Ontario, Canada ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the game uses, why, and the choices you have. Dotcade has no accounts and we don't run our own servers, so we never receive your name, email address or game data.
Information that stays on your device
The game saves the following on your phone so it can work. We can't see any of it.
- Your scores, streak, achievements, tokens, unlocked items and settings.
- Your birth year, which you enter on first launch. It is used only to decide whether ads may be shown and it never leaves your device.
- A record of your purchases, so unlocked items keep working when you're offline.
Uninstalling Dotcade deletes this information.
Services from Apple and Google
Dotcade uses features built into your phone's platform. When you use them, Apple or Google handles the information under their own privacy policies.

Advertising
The free version of Dotcade may show ads, served through AppLovin MAX and the ad networks it works with. To show and measure ads, these companies may collect:
- your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android)
- your IP address and approximate location derived from it
- device information such as model, operating system and language
- how you interact with ads
Your choices:
- On iOS, ads are only personalized if you choose "Allow" when the app asks to track. You can change this any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
- On Android, you can reset or delete your Advertising ID in your phone's settings under Privacy › Ads (the exact menu varies by phone).
- In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, you are asked for consent before personalized ads are shown.
- Players who enter a birth year showing they are under 16 are never shown ads, and the ad software is not started for them.
- The Arcade Pass removes all ads.

Notifications
If you turn on the streak reminder in Settings, the game schedules a reminder on your device. It's created locally and involves no server. You can turn it off in the game or in your phone's settings.
Friend challenges
A challenge link you share contains only the day and the score to beat. It contains nothing that identifies you.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your personal information.
- We don't use analytics or crash-reporting services of our own.
- We don't collect your name, email address, contacts, photos or precise location.
Children
Dotcade is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. Players under 16, based on the birth year they enter, are never shown ads.
Your rights and deleting your data
- Uninstalling the game removes everything stored on your device.
- You can remove cloud-saved progress in your iCloud settings (iOS) or in the Google Play Games app (Android).
- To delete ad-related data held by AppLovin, use the request options in AppLovin's privacy policy.
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, Canada's PIPEDA or California's CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information. Because we hold no personal information about you ourselves, most requests are handled through the services above, but we're happy to help.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's update notes.
